Gridwork from tonight... first proper time Jay's jumped for about 2 months so excuse the rustyness of us both! He was so blooming keen and forward! haha!

I will admit though, I've been a bit down in the dumps recently and after getting off him tonight I was completely like "Oh my life this poor horse... I have completely ruined him... what am I going to do now with the mess i've made?" :( Just completely overreacting about the schooling sesh... basically cos I messed up the striding and feel like I've ruined Jay... cos that's the way I am atm! haha! I just feel like for a long time now we've been staying in the same place... but recently it's almost like we're going backwards... through no fault of Jay's.. it's ALL mine here.

And I know it probobly doesn't look that way to anyone else, it just feels that way to me... I literally feel like everything I do these days gets ruined and I just seem to be a bit stuck in a rut... and I'm not even entirely aware why!

I'm not looking for sympathy, honestly, and you know me, I always look on the bright side anyway and I'm sure everything will be much brighter in a few weeks time, we just need to get settled and then we can start working away at all the niggles again, I just feel like sometimes I wish someone would just take Jay and give him the guidance that he needs, and then they could just give me a new brain, and then I could have Jay back :L

Jay is wonderfull... all the mistakes are entirely my doing!!

I just feel totally useless in almost every aspect atm... I know it's really silly! Must just be the winter blues, ey!?

But yeah jumping tonight didn't go very much to plan, since I'm a bit of a special case I obviously strided everything out wrong and then Jay was struggling to either add in strides or stretch for it, I rode like a complete dummy and I just fear Jays gonna hate jumping now! He stopped only once, and that was when we first put the other two fences up and I gave him a stupid stride and no confidence in the first part... as usuall! If I were Jay I would have chucked me off at every attempt... the wee soldier just keeps going even though I'm literally making it impossible :(!
And I don't think he's gonan hate jumping cos he gave me any reason to think that, he was just as keen to jump at the end as he was at the start... this is ALL me worrying too much as usuall, but eventually it will wear off on him!

But... anyway, you guys aren't here to listen to me moan about life and I don't expect you to either! This horsey saves my butt on so many occasions I can't even explain... I don't know what I've done to deserve him. I just know he's seriously not going to stay this way unless I get my ideas bucked up!

Plans atm is pretty much to kill myself and come back as a better person hahahaha!
Seriosuly though... this has got to be the moaniest description ever... I promise I'm not usually like this ;) I just feel like there's something not right, and I don't quite know what :/

Gonna try and get physio out... just incasey... and get like a lesson every single day.. haha... and search the black market for brain transplants.....

So yeah. Now that you're all thoroughly depressed.... I hope you all have a good weekend!

Hey, I know it can be rough when you get stuck in a rut and feel like you're just a failure, but you are not. You and Jay are a perfect team and maybe you just need to take a step back, try something new, and just find your "happy place" again. There will always be ups and downs with riding, but often changing up the routine can help both you and the horse rediscover your passion! Good luck! :)

I always love your videos! Don't be so harsh! I have never broken in and schooled a horse to go as well as Jay, so you should be proud! They can't be perfect 100% of the time. I know becase my horses are rescues off the racetrack, so your 'crap schooling' is my 'amazing schooling' lol. You're awesome Coley, chin up Kiddo, it's just a funk, it will pass. Trust me, I am the queen of self doubt city! If we could all ride well all the time our coaches would be out of a job after all! :P xx

@HeartbreakInSterIero No worries..its so easy to get bogged down when you feel you shouldnt be allowed even ride a horse. Really glad to hear that my comment helped :) I really enjoy watching your videos..you're one of very few riders on here who I can completely respect because you dont have a top bred, push button horse who makes you look good. Its just pure genuine talent and your great work bringing your horse on. It helps that Jay's naturally talented too though ;) x
