comparing this game to silent hill or resident evil? I hope you know that first alone in the dark had started the Survival horror genre.

Resident Evil is cool but doesn't scare, It just use the surprise effect over and over again, silent hill scares more. And Alone in the Dark was first than resident so you must respect It.

Alone In The Dark did not "start" survival horror, but instead it paved the way for what horror games would look like. It was the first ever 3D horror game which is something we even see today. Capcom copied this technique and Resident Evil was born. Although that franchise is getting tired now.

Graphics, story, content, characters. you name it, The new nightmare is head and shoulders above alone in the dark.

brings back a lot of good memories...
probably one of the best PSX, PS1 games ever - great graphics, 2 scenarios, 2 different characters, great sound effects, full of puzzles, etc

Voice acting pretty good compared to the RE3 or 2. Both great games, cant wait to try this one out.

@ArmAFan sweet home was the first survival horror game for the Nes by Capcom which is what inspired resident evil. but if you want to get more technical Haunted house for the atari2600 was.....

I remember buying this game and remember thinking holy shit the flashlight effects is outta this world, when you would use it lol Great game though gonna own it for Dreamcast
