@kcirdrab they're Crowd Controllers :-)

I was so lucky to see them in Margate in 1963.
This is how it was they came on stage plugged into the relatively small speakers/amps etc, and created a performance that unless you saw them live in those early days will have no idea of what I am talking about.
Could hardly hear them, I am sure they couldnt hear themselves, but such raw, genuine live music, amid scenes that will never be repeated.
No flashing lights,umpteen backing singers or dancers milling around
Who was it THE BEATLES

@Drenwickification In 1966 there was nobody in charge of the sound. There was just the stage amps and house PA. No mixing desks. No miked drum kit. No stage monitors. Most of the time the vocals went through the house PA and the direct sound from the amps was what the audience heard. That's what makes their touring achievements so incredible.

@eveningside because he's tired of playing for screaming girls..why should he even try when nobody really listens? :( Beatles forever!

why is ringo hitting the ride slower than in the studio or the 1965 concerts?
This is so special. I miss the days when true artists (yes, I said "true" artists) do their sound checks and tunings in front of the fans. Unlike today that everything is auto-tuned, theatrical and full of gimmicks. People came here only to hear and see The Beatles. Nothing more... nothing less. To me that's a real, special dedicated devotion by a fan to an artist.
