Washington Post Newspaper hemorrhages money yet stays afloat by its business venture Kaplan University. Many people, including former employees, say Kaplan preys on the low income and undereducated people to apply and attend the school. These students often use government loans they cannot pay back, plunging them into debt.

  • For profit colleges are a scam! Hell, most higher learning is now a scam. It is all about the money!

  • Great report RT. I'm sure the Washington Post will unleash their attack dogs on RT soon. Stay tuned!

  • Kaplan University screwed me as well. Thanks Kaplan

  • @Maxered in a capitalist society, what ISN'T about the money? The cure for cancer is worthless. However the treatment is worth it's weight in gold. What does this tell you in general about capitalism? Wake up. Insurance, Banking, Healthcare...they're all guilty of this.

  • @alpidistra That would mean you'd have a fare amount of the population middle class.

  • kaplan….isn't that jewish??? another funnel of money to israhell….

  • Unfortunately, there aren't investigative journalists like Woodward & Bernstein in the mainstream media. There are some good independent investigative journalists out there such as Jeremy Scahill ("Blackwater"), Gary Webb ("Dark Alliance"), Eileen Wellsome ("The Plutonium Files"), Alfred W. McCoy ("Politics of Heroin"), John Newman ("Oswald and the CIA"), as well as Naomi Klein, and Naomi Wolf. Other writers like Ralph Nader, Noam Chomsky, and papers like the Toledo Blade still do!

  • Interesting how a small insignificant country like Uruguay can afford to offer free university education to all its citizens while the so-called richest country in the world can't. Almost all doctors and engineers in America are foreign educated; I wonder why? It is common sense for a country to invest in free education for its citizens; the benefit to its economy far outweighs the cost. One way is productive, the other is predatory and self-destructive.

  • Are you guys owned by time Warner, i would like to know, because if you are independent why are you on a time Warner owned station on television.

  • Hhhmmmnn, a money funnel. whoopie.

  • Nixon didn't do anything any of the other recent scumbags didn't do. In fact he was more of a progressive than O-bummer, Vietnam was a horrible tragedy but we sure didn't learn from that did we? Iraq was worse than Vietnam, more defenseless, more genocide, more illegal weapons used, more torture and disrespect of the natives.
