@David45NV1 I do agree with you. Ramon Vargas has somethins strained in his technique. Fritz Wunderlich was from another world. He must have been an alien, not human ... ;-))

The true heavy-weight tenors reach vocal maturity only in their late 30ies, so: let it flourish slowly-slowly and you and we will enjoy a marvellous Heldentenor one day. And: Don't ever copy Kaufmann!
-
It's already very pleasant, very remarkable, and truly well sung. It'll probably clear up more and lighten with more "metal" over time but: it will need its time. You carry a weight of good material.

You (and your teachers) give your development a very wise approach as you don't force into heavy roles yet. As it took time for your voice becoming tenoral, it will need time until it ripens truly.

One of the best writings about 'Heldentenors' and their originally stemming from the high baritone can be found in "Die Kunst des Singens" / "The Art of Singing and Voice Technique") by Victor Fuchs.

Ramon Vargas would not be the best approach. If at all, Wunderlich and Araiza would be the proper orientation. Mihai would destroy his excellent technique by following RV.

I have to agree wholeheartedly with Hobo1975 below. If you worked really hard at creating a true legato line, which is absolutely ESSENTIAL to sing Mozart you would improve vocally DRAMATICALLY. Also this aria is a soft, gentle, tender and loving declaration with some moments of beautiful soft singing and very little forte, but you belted through the whole thing and there were no dynamics to speak of. Listen to Ramon Vargas to gain an idea of how to approach this aria successfully. Bravo.

very dramatic tux and extremity movements, but sounds lovely!
Thank you all for your wonderful comments! What do you think about the other songs that Bogdan Mihai performed during his Rosenblatt recital?
