Hours at Anoka County Library have changed over the weekend. As of yesterday, Northtown Library in Blaine will be open on Sunday afternoons from 1 to 5 p.m. Access to the Library's website and catalog, online resources, and request and renewal services will remain available 24 hours a day. The new schedule will be:
• Monday: noon to 8 p.m.
• Tuesday: 10 a.m. to 6:00 pm
• Wednesday: noon to 8:00 pm
• Thursday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Friday: 10 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Sunday: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Northtown Library only

Students at Irondale High School should bring in items for a food-drive fundraiser this week. Students who bring in three or more items Monday through Friday will get a raffle ticket for two $10 gift cards to local restaurants. There will be drawings every weekday. At the game Friday night, Oct. 9, every person who brings in three or more items will receive a raffle ticket for a half-time drawing for four Irondale Football T-shirts.

There are two local opportunities to give blood with the American Red Cross this week. Stop by Murzyn Hall, located at 530 Mill St. N.E. in Columbia Heights, between 1 and 6 p.m. on Wednesday or VFW Post 363, located at between 1:30 and 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Eligible donors must be at least 17 years old, or 16 with a signed consent form, and must weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health.
