Spirit, one of NASA's twin Mar Exploration Rovers, hasn't been heard from for months now. She got stuck in deep sand and couldn't get to "shelter" for the Martian winter - her "shelter" being a hillside to allow her solar panels the best chance to capture the sun's much fainter rays. The Spirit has shut down into a safe mode that uses all her energy to stay warm, a sleep that she may never wake up from. The MER primary mission was 90 sols (Martian days) and the rovers have recently reached the 2300 sol mark. Spirit drove around the Red Planet's surface for 5 years and 3 months before becoming stuck.

ATHLETE is part of Constellation Program
"ATHLETE is capable of rolling over Apollo-like undulating terrain and "walking" over extremely rough or steep terrain so that robotic or human missions on the surface of the Moon can load, transport, manipulate, and deposit payloads to essentially any desired sites of interest."
