On November 4, 2008, Proposition 8 was passed into law, writing discrimination against gay and lesbian couples into the California State constitution. April 19, 2009 will be the day the youth of California empowers themselves by declaring that marriage is a civil right for all. We will unite as the future leaders of the nation to stand up not only for marriage equality, but all civil rights. Every community will be represented and all voices will be heard.

1FEST will be a day of action, unity, and progress: a day worthy of celebration. Held at UCLAs Wilson Plaza, 1FEST will feature live music performances, art, and food. Special guest speakers will be Human Rights Activist Cleve Jones, and Dolores Huerta of the United Farm Workers.
