U2 - Angels Too Tied To The Ground

The number one reason why I love the remastered Deluxe Version of War! At least one track I never heard before and I really like.

I must admit that I'm happy to have all the songs on CD now, but I'm a bit angry because I searched for ages to collect all the B-Sides I possess now (they are mostly of a poor quality, though...) and now they release a CD which could have saved a lot of my time :(

I'm not quite sure whether this is really an old track they never used on any of their records or it's a new song. When I compare Bono's voice then and now and listen to the song... hm???

Anyways, I think I mixed up many of the pics, because it's hard to find pictures of the War Era!! I think this vid deals with pictures from 1982 to 1985.

that's true. War is one of my favourite U2 records, maybe because I'm almost the same age as they were then. and his voice was many many times better.

@RattleAndHum1988 Yeah, even from the first burst of his voice, you can tell it's an older Bono singing. It's not as piercing as something from, say, New Years Day...This could be a similar case to Sweetest Thing, a song that was written for one album, but left off and not properly recorded until a later date.

If you think Bono in this song sounds like 1983 Bono, maybe you should check out the War album or watch some performances, this is older Bono for sure. If you want some evicence, take this: Bono talked about before Achtung Baby, none of their songs had the word "baby". This recording does. There you go.

This was indeed a previously unreleased gem from the War sessions. It was recently finished and mixed but the recordings were from about 1983. It is an amazing song. Bono's voice at it's best, Edges' back vocals soar as his piano creates the perfect feeling, Larry and Adam blend into a perfect rythym - Classic U2
