Back in the 80's, FOREVER 21 was a Bank of America branch, GAP was a WOOLWORTH with a subway entrance and BLOOMINGDALES was the old EMPORIUM CAPWELL dept. store. Market street continues to change . . .
You don't know how bad i wanna travel to the states! I hate living in this stupid state and everyone says i'm crazy of wanting to move. Look how amazing San Francisco is. ..I can't fine noting amazing and happening up where I live.
Can u send me a plane ticket and a place to live over there?
First, what he called the train is the streetcar. The subway is the train. And Market is a long street. You have to give a cross street for location. The stores he was looking at are around Fifth and/or Powell Sts. This vid would have been more interesting if he had walked up Market toward Seventh, at least to the next BART/Muni Metro station instead of staying in that little one or two block area. It's nice to see a piece of my old stomping ground.
@redfoe77 You are entitled to your own opinion. But I live on Market Street and have never encountered the foul smell of urine or feces. The drug addicts and homeless people do not bother anyone. The street is the very first one of San Francisco and though it is old, I find it beautiful. And to assume that business owners owe their livelihoods to their business, you would be correct. But don't all employees do that, whatever their career?
Market street is absolute crap. Full of thugs and drug addicts and poor homeless people at its worst. Heavy traffic and very noisy during the daytime. The curbs are filthy and stink like pee or human manure.
At its best is full of shops for the shopaholics. Feels more like a tourist trap more than anything. The local people are rude and impatient overall. The shop employees act friendly only because they know their livelyhood depends on it.
thanks for posting , nice everyday scene with no cheesy soundtrack .. btw if you start a sentence with "as you can see" you probably don't need to say the sentence at all ;)
