Ok, so...Cora Rose is neither Norwegian nor lesbian, but she is the voice behind Nefertiti's Fjord, and an amazing up and coming musician. Listen to her more serious stuff here: www.corarose.com
Or here: http://www.facebook.com/corarosemusic

Jeremy Mage is a very talented musician/producer from New York City and the mastermind behind the melding of Cora's Norwegian lilting and that good ol' afro funk. www.jeremymage.com

P.S. Cora DID grow up in a very Norwegian town in Wisconsin and consequently knows a little Norwegian. But that is neither here nor there.

P.S. Crank the bass, if you can. Then dance your little Afro-Norse heart out when verse 2 hits!

  • I laughed so hard when I heard this! Is she saying "farmor" (which means grandmother) in the middle there? I'm norwegian, btw. Love this! And Parks & Rec :) Just started listening to Cora's music. I love that as well! When will you perform in Norway? :)

  • @lindaaars1 Hi! It was "far og mor". Ah, a Norwegian tour would be so much fun! I've never made it over there..

  • I think all of it is parts of the national anthem... I died laughing when I figured out she said "Ja, vi elsker dette landet, som det stiger frem!"

Just as when Leslie was practising for her first date with that police guy, and they cut to her saying "opp og ned apparat", which does indeed mean up and down machine in danish.

  • This is utterly hillarious. Also, very good on hiding your accent. I'm Norwegian and would have assumed the singer to just be odd if i not allready knew this from parks and rec.

  • OMG I love NPR and Parks and Rec and this was Soo funny. Such a perfect parody.

  • Ohhh, I totally thought it was Kristen Wiig singing; sounds a lot like her :P

  • @CoraRoseMusic aha! Far og mor makes more sense. (father and mother) I would definitely love it if you did a tour here in the future :)

  • When I first heard this from P&R, I laughed my ass off so hard, I nearly crashed my van!

  • I laughed really hard at this part. And the way Leslie introduced them... hilarious. When the song played I couldn't help but think of how catchy the song was. XD
