Racing a Z06 Corvette with my STi

Racing a friend in his 03 Z06 with my 07 STi. Beat him to the 1/4 mile mark, but he passes me right after that.

Racers don't talk about what ifs. It is a race with what you got, not what you would do with more money. A race is between two drivers that think that they can win. First one that crosses the "line" wins. If you are sleeping at the line or get nervous and smoke the tires then you lose. If you win there are no excuses.

If you lose a hand shake and a congratulations is what I want. And don't forget.

Alright, you want to talk about PRICE? They don't make '03 Vettes anymore, so you'd be buying used. A used '03 Z06 with low miles is mid-to-low 20's Kelly Blue Booked. That would mean the mod money would go to the Vette owner. Nice try scoobie fanboys.

Look, it's clear you are not one of the fanboys or retards I was originally responding to. If you want to keep going back and fourth on a subjective issue, then go ahead but I'm not going to show back up here. You've misconstrued my efforts, which isn't to slam the car in the first place. Despite popular belief, I like Suburu's, I just don't like the typical crowd that surrounds them. I'm a car enthusiast, not to be confused with a brand loyal jackass.

Doesn't seem like he is trying really hard with the Vette. Not saying the WRX is slow.. At least WRX owners pick a real performance vehicle that performs. Honda Ex's with a coffee can muffler is not performance.

i agree with you, both are awesome cars, my vettes sitting at 650rwhp and scares me every time i drive, my impreza is the funnest dd i have ever owned and is unstoppable in the snow

Yup, seems about right. The STI' s AWD would take the Vette off the line. The Vette' s power, weight and aerodynamics will take over higher end.

Nothing a tire change can't correct. I raced many EVOs and WRXs with my 87 Buick Grand National and 99 GT with T-76. After I got beat a few times off the line, I discovered NItto DRs and ET Streets. Problem solved.

high tec vs mucle,,,,,,,,,,,,, the sti won becuas its awd very big advantage in drag but you can see that the zo6 pack a bigger punch but just not fast enough to win,,
