She does not play the ukulele. Although she is about the same size as one. About 4'6". However, she plays the piano marvelously. She is 99 years old this year. That means she has been playing for about 91 years now. She still does pretty well I think.

Although she just watched this and said: "Heavens, I sound like that? I need to go practice!"

Oh, and I don't know if you remember Burl Ives ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qW2_xXMelR8 ), but they went to elementary school together.

My second five minute documentary. Should have been my first but I didn't have any footage until the whole family got together recently.

  • A dear old Friend of mine (a bass & tuba player) used to say: one doesn't say (about a musician) "He or she died", one says: "So & so doesn't play no more..."

  • Thank you so much for your comment, it really touched my heart as I'm afraid my Grandmother did indeed pass away this February. Thank you so much for watching, and your very special comment.

  • Thanks for watching everyone, and for your nice comments!

  • your grandma is amazing! truly great documentary.

  • Thanks Russ!! I'll tell her, but she is having trouble grasping this internet concept, and the fact that she is on it!

  • Burl Ives used to be one of my favourite musicians as a child. Now it's you, Grandma - sorry for the familiarity, but I do not know your name.

  • Wow, she'll be amazed to hear she's on a par with Burl in someone's affections! (Her name is Evelyn.) :)
