*They follow her out of the room and the whole group, including the Menudo guys, decides to fan out and look for her. They all pair up; except for Chris, who winds up looking by himself; and start hunting. After looking for about an hour, Chris walks into the park and sees her sitting on a bench alone, visibly shivering from the cold*
Chris - [Pulling off his jacket and putting it around her shoulders from behind] Hey, you okay?
Erin - [looking up at him, her eyes red and puffy from crying] No, not really. Whatre you doing here anyway?
Chris - [Suddenly defensive] What? I cant come to check on someone I care about?
Erin - No, I never said tha- wait, care about?
Chris - [sitting down next to her on the bench] Yeah, care about. From the first time I saw you dancing tonight, I knew that you were one of the most amazing girls Ive ever seen
Erin - [Tears starting to dry up] Really?
Chris - Yeah, now why dont you tell me whats wrong?
Erin - I wish I could, trust me. But if I did, there'd probably be more water coming out of me than a leaky pipe
Chris - You sure about that? Itd probably help if you told at least someone
Erin - You promise not to tell anyone?
Chris - Promise. Nobody will know unless you want them to
Erin - All right, heres what happened
*She explains to him that she learned that her family had just died in a car crash. None of the other girls had lost either of their parents and neither had any of the guys, so she didnt think that they would understand. At the end of her shpiel*
Erin - So yeah, thats pretty much it. Im sorry I couldnt tell you earlier, but I just thought that you guys wouldnt really understand
Chris - Why would you think that?
Erin - because, this isnt something that you go through every day! No one knows how I feel right now, and if theyre lucky enough, no one ever will
*at that, tears start rolling down her cheeks again, and Chris pulls her into a tight, reassuring hug*
Chris - Everything's gonna be fine, I promise [stands up] now come on, lets call off the search party before they all assume you for dead
Erin - [smiling] All right, good idea. Before we go though, can you just promise me one thing?
Chris - Sure, anything. Just name it
Erin - Promise me that you wont tell anyone. Not the guys, nobody!
Chris - All right, but can I just ask you why? And what the heck are we going to say to them?
Erin - Because I don't want them to know, at least not yet. Ill just tell them that Lilly got hit by a car
Chris - Lilly? Who's that?
Erin - My kitten
*They both start laughing and walking back to the arena. Once they get there*
Erin - Crap! We should probably call off the search, shouldnt we?
Chris - Yeah, we probably should
*Suddenly, they hear someone coming in*
Stephanie - [walking into the room with Jose] E! You're okay! [gives her a really tight hug]
Erin - Yes, I'm fine [starts to struggle] Can you let go of me now? I think I felt a rib break
Jose - [laughing and pulling Stephanie off of Erin] So, where'd you go, anyway? We couldn't find you anywhere that we looked
Erin - The park, but I didn't realize how cold the city can get at night, I was freezing!
Stephanie - Yeah, but isn't that Chris's jacket you're wearing?
Erin - Yeah... He was the one who found me, after all. [Turning and realizing that he isn't there] Speaking of which, where is he?
Chris - [coming back in from the other room] I was just calling everyone and letting them know that you were here, and what exactly happened
Stephanie - So, what did happen to make you run out like that?
Erin - You remember Lily, right?
Stephanie - Yeah...
Erin - she just got hit by a car and killed on the spot. I just ran out because well, you know how much I loved her
Jose - Wait, back up a bit, who's Lily?
Erin - She was my kitten, and she was ador-
Eliza - [interrupting her by coming into the room with Monti] There you are, E! We were so worried about you!
Monti - Her more than me, though
Erin - Well, glad to know how much you care; Monti [punches him lightly in the shoulder]
Monti - I'm just kidding!
Holly and Eva - [walking in with Carlos and Emma] You'd better be
??? - Hey there, Josey - Bear
