A robot makes music, with each new layering sound represented by a different whimsical mechanism. This is an animation that I created as part of a series of "Animated Listening Maps" for Pearson/Scott Foresman when I worked at the company Six Red Marbles.

@pespicola71 actually, I did! If you think about it, every animation or TV show or movie that you watch was made by somebody, right? You just usually don't meet that person. Well, in this case, I'm the person! I worked for a company called Six Red Marbles, several years ago, and I spent a lot of time making this animation, and many others. I'm glad your teacher liked to show it!

How did you make the animation?

@evhan55 I sketched out the robot on paper, and a designer drew it in illustrator. I imported the robot parts into flash and animated it there. I synced it to the music with a combination of a flash program that recorded frame numbers as I tapped along to the music, and another program that automated the flash authoring environment to place keyframes at those frames. fun!
