3/24/09 5-3-1 method, today was 3's, I hit 430 for 9, best I have hit before that was 425 for 5..Some of these reps were lower than parallel, and some were just at it.....Body weight is 212lbs, about 18 days out from my meet. Think Im going to stay in the 220lb weight class, I am also training for a bodybuilding competition June 27th and I want to keep as much muscle as possible on. So I don't want to cut more than 1 pound a week. Looking to Compete at 190 or more. Norm comp weight is 180-184...

  • Hey good work man.  What was your starting 1 rep max and how long did it take you to get to 430x9? I just started the 5/3/1 the beginning of March. My start 1 rep max -10% was 325. Thanks

  • Thanks, they say there is no miracle program out there but this one is prob the closest to one. I had a max of 475 and was at a stand still. DId 5/3/1 using a 450lb 1 rep max and hit a new 1 rep of 530....when I use the formula I get around 560lb squat. I have a meet this weekend so we'll see how it went. took about 3 month of training....Good luck bro
