@MrPugboy13 After killing an animal, lions usually get the guts first, as shown here. In many cases, they will open the abdomen in the groin area, or by eating off the genitilia. The skin here is very thin here, and it makes it easier to then get the rest of the belly open. It seems this lion must have started eating at the groin and worked forward. You can occasionally see some meat protude where the anus would have been.
