I have spent my morning watching her videos.....I have been playing the drums since I was 5; she is way more talented that I will ever be! Thanks for sharing her story.

What an inspiration...so gifted and charming....she should be out performing...I'd be the first in line. Somewhere like Steamer's in Orange County would be perfect.

Is this the Rachel I watched on 60 minutes? I remember when the show originally aired I was amazed at her talent and then on Sunday they showed the follow-up! Wow -- amazing! I've been playing for 25 years and she is far better than me. LOL She also has a beautiful flute!

Yes, this is the same Rachel. She would have started playing the flute earlier in her life, but she was so small that even with the flutes that came with the curved head-joint she couldn't reach the whole length. lol. So, she played complex pieces on plastic recorders until everything came together. "The Dory Bavarsky Trio" portion of this clip... she'd been playing the flute for 6 months at that time. :)
