Reported Smallpox Repository Missing From Russian VECTOR Institute

The State Research Center of Virology and Biotechnology VECTOR, also known as the VECTOR Institute, is a highly sophisticated biological research center in Koltsovo, Russia. This facility is comparable to both the Center for Disease Control and Prevention as well as the US Army Chemical and Biological Defence Command. This building is one of the two official repositories of the now eradicated smallpox virus; the other being in the United States.
A few hours ago, unofficial sources have stated that this facility has been compromised and the unknown amounts of the smallpox virus may be missing.
