  • The iPad is not an e-reader. Neither is it any better then using a laptop in class. If you are looking to restrict distractions, a full functioning tablet is not the choice. I applaud the use of technology in the class room. However, I am disgusted when people that don't understand it, try to implement and talk about it...

  • APPLE!

  • I'm not really sure who the speaker was talking to in saying "whether we like it or not, society is going to become digitized"... who are these people (I assume they must be 50+) that "don't like" that?

Also, this whole video just feels like paid sponsoring provided by Apple inc.

I know exactly what you mean. A normal computer with keyboard is so much more functional. Another major problem I have with this is that they are promoting an over-priced underpowered piece of tech. Why people overpay for apple is beyond me. I have had apple user admit that their product are overprice.

  • When did Notre Dame lose it's touch? Hello, there's actual eReader devices out there designed for electronic books that use less energy and are easier to read. These iPads will probably be more of a distraction.

Plus if you want a tablet for college use, why not get a real tablet PC? Jotting down actual notes into OneNote, skimming webpages, and such is much more practical on a real tablet PC. I can't believe so many colleges are selling their souls to Apple lately.
