Good idea if you run it on R40, Ahh! to change it frequently as it's hygroscopic and retains water which can have major negative effects on bearings and crank flywheels. My ex works 1949 ISDT 350 trials had these probs so I'm running straight 50 now. Regards.

Ta for the tip, I sold it last week! Fella got half a tin of oil with it, and struck me as the sort who'd know about these things. Wish I'd kept a little of that oil to mix in with my petrol tho...

In fact now I look at that exhaust which I think is the coolest one I have seen, did they make them like that or is there a muffler missing, either way I think it enhances the bike, if one was to buy one of the modern day enfields, are they tunable in anyway?

As far as I know, yes, though there's a view that it might be a 'big head'.The barrel fins are individually welded on, surprised they're not cast. Gearbox is 1960's, exhaust's a gem. Still on castor oil! Aromatherapy! Thanks.
