With due respect to the late Jagjit Singh ,I loved his music,style of compositions,introduction of modern instruments into light ghazals &geets&his lovely voice but to say that AR cannot compose ghazal is totally untrue,AR if wishes can compose the greatest ghazal album provided he gets the right poetry & a great ghazal singer,yes Jagjit is no more but real music knowledge people do know that Jagjit was Not the best ghazal singer around as far as serious classical singing is concerned,eg.Ghulam

Well I am not a South Indian, but this comment by Mr. Singh is absolutely baseless and wrong. Though I consider that AR Rehman has composed much better music than the one that was awarded, but what is this greatness about composing a ghazal if someone gets josh! This is ridiculous at best, and cynical at worst. I do not even listen to Rehman music myself, but no body can deny that he composes beautiful and complex pieces.

@adityanaikdesai i totally agree i dont have the age....but you being cynical to give bad critics on ARR tracks... never forget he is the only Indian to get a double Oscar in this competitive world that cannot be a mistake dont u think????????
