  • utterly stupid , men risking there lives to save a boat that has no right to even be there ! a bath tub would have been better .

  • who in the name off god would bring that out in them seas

  • She's weathering the swell well enough, 50 ton of ballest would have helped the caviation and steadyed her.

  • and why was a river barge out in those conditions?

  • Apart from the fact the vessel had to be rescued, it shows just what these barges can take. when they were sailing the sails would dampen out the roll and give the vessel some stability. Shame they took the rig out!

  • we get as close as we can then we throw a heaving line with the tow line attached to it. ;-)

  • After a very calm night from Belgium, the final Dover approach was painfully slow as caviation slowed us to standstill against the strong tides. Our Engine room flooded when the coolant pipe came adrift, my hired pro skipper tried to fix it in rough seas, With engine off we drifted to the famous sandbanks & potential destruction. Dressed in full kit, I too was shocked to realise that the pros had not brought their own lifejackets. Both the RNLI & Coastguard were fantastic & a very welcome sight!

  • Holy S#%T

  • Was an awesome job for the lifeboat crew, shame about the vessel in distress and the knowledge of the crew, think 1 lifejacket between 3 speaks for itself

  • It's still a mystery to me how they attach the towline in heavy seas like this.
