@Lauraukify Hi there, "thousands left in poverty" is a sweeping statement, hardship was caused by some of her policy's and her encumbancy was not error free, However not all problems can be laid at her feet. Great changes in industry were occurring at the time with computer technology moving to the fore, making many jobs redundant. A Labour win wouldn't have changed that, but would have made Britain a less attractive place to do business, and business is life blood for a country Best regards

@alanheath3 Hi there, I WAS a bit hard on poor Jim, but you get my drift. If not Thatcher, who? It is essential for leaders to have a bit of fire in their belly's. Remember Neville Chamberlain's "Peace in our time" politics culminated in holocaust, misery, destruction and austerity for many millions. Had Hitler been denied Czechoslovakia, he would have been denied the raw materials of war. In hindsight , we now know he could have been nipped in the bud. best regards.

@MrBowsmith Tell that to the thousands of people she left behind in poverty. I think they would disagree with your reply.

@MrBowsmith I think that that is a bit unfair on Jim. I would not have voted for him, but I respect his leadership and I think in this film he gives a very fair analysis of Maggie.
-
@Lauraukify It should of course be remembered, at the time of her democratic election, there existed no credible opposition, just men of straw. Can you imagine Jim Callahan leading anything? I wouldn't send him down the road to get a packet of fags.

And Maggie was the biggest cunt of them all!
Maggie was strong, but her cabinet were a bunch of chinless wonders without principles and spines!

John Nott.....useless, absolutely useless! Basically a traitor and if he had not messed up so badly the Falklands would not have happened!
