If you ever worked as a media librarian then you know the heartache of a tape fail, missing tapes, inventory, the robotic library screwing up, media recalls at 2 in the morning, (I still hate AES) and all the crap that one puts up with working that kind of job.

We used to have 6 in ours, but our new SL8500 took over, we are now down to 2 well silos at least.

Brings back memories. We have 4 of these in our data center. But since the IBM 3584 is up and running we no longer get request to unload/load the STK silos. It's the end of an era. No more manually handling media.
