Thanks for posting this! Just got my 1919 the other day and I've watched your vid several times and practiced on my gun.

Very good video. Should do one on cleaning the booster and barrel end after a shoot. I'll give you a 5.

question, does anybody know if the trick works with using 30-06 links in the 308, if you don't seat the cartage all the way in the link? i read it online, is that true or wont it work, thank you

Thanks for the info. I've been setting the headspace on my 1919 using that method, but I found it in the field manual and it's a little easier to understand when you can see it. Check out my channel sometimes, I'm doing a series on my new Allied Armament 1919a4.

nowhere else can i find this info,
your a metal head through and through !
Thanks, I have been doing it this way for years, I sell the headspace gauges to, but I trust this method the best. The tool is a good staring point, i still use this before I shoot. On my gun, I run 30-06, all 30-06 parts including links, I think the 06 links work best for 06, the 308 links will run 8mm, 30-06, and 308 just fine. there is a spacing difference between the links, so 06 links dont work good for me in a 308 set up, and vise versa. I will see if I can do one for cleaning sometime.
