http://www.survivalnewsonline.com. Check out this Berkey Sport bottle with a built-in filter; it's perfect for emergencies. Keep it in your bugout bag and refill with water in a ditch or pond, and it filters out clean water.

  • If you actually had your son drink run off (i.e. pond) water, strait, with only one pass through a filter, without boiling or adding high proof alcohol/iodine to the water first, it was very irresponsible. These filter bottles, even the ones branded "survival" or "emergency" are dangerous because they can lull people into a false sense of security over water that may still be toxic, even if it looks clean and clear.

Yes, in an emergency. But as a last option, and failing every other source.

  • @ParadoxEcho We've been drinking that water straight for nearly two decades. I might explode any second, LOL!

  • can you drink your urine?

  • @JimmyGunXD556 My understanding is that the Berkey filters suspended solids, not solids in solution, like salt or urea. Contact the maker to find out for certain, but I wouldn't think so.

  • Do you think this will take out bromine. Where I work there is alot of bromine and I cant stand the taste! But it is the only source of water. Great vid.

  • @tesla747 Yes, the Berkey reduces bromine and chlorine, but not fluorine.

  • @AlaskanYoung Okay, They are capable of blocking as much as 95%-97% of dioxins, which are pervasive in almost all standing water and rivers down stream of human habitats. Dioxin, one of the most toxic non-radioactive substances known to man. They cause birth defects, brain damage, spectrum cancer, skin lesions and liver damage. That is as long as you are limited to "safe" exposure levels. Under 1% per volume.

So 5%-3% of a deadly poison in your water should be fine.

    To quote, "Lol. STFU"

  • @ParadoxEcho lol. stfu

  • all kinds of poop lol

  • lol! good video

  • 3:28 - 3:34 well he needed some time before he gave it his kid

  • the kids eyes freaked me out at first i thought he was deformed or something

  • @JimmyGunXD556 in their promotional video they say that you can't. It's best to ask them about it.
