Air France Flight 296 was a chartered flight of a newly-delivered fly-by-wire Airbus A320 operated by Air France. On June 26, 1988, as part of an air show it was scheduled to fly over Mulhouse-Habsheim Airport (ICAO code LFGB) at a low speed with landing gear down at an altitude of 100 feet, but instead slowly descended to 30 feet before crashing into the tops of trees beyond the runway. Three passengers died. The cause of the accident is disputed, as many irregularities were later revealed by the accident investigation. This was the first ever crash involving an Airbus A320.

  • In May 1977 Airbus informed air France they were experimenting with a fully automated UNMANNED plane, In June 1988 air France took delivery and refused to put a backup pilot in the plane much to the dismay of Airbus, this was a contributing factor to the crash . Only the French could do this.

  • @StPetesYTSMemptyA320 Eight out of ten cats prefer Kit e Kat. but the truth is nine out ten prefered this unmanned plane.

  • @bmwnasher Only empty thing around heree is your skull.

this was air france 296. 2 pilots 4 other crew 130 passengers on board 3 died

just ignore trolls who claim it was an empty aircraft - it was not empty & they have no evidence to back up their claims.

seriously, they have been trolling all of these videos with the " unmanned plane" rubbish for over 40 months

a simple internet search for Habsheim crash or air france 296 soon confirms the details I have given about this crash

  • @939alexz This is ludicrous all these people were on an UNMANNED plane. UNMANNED planes are always EMPTY.

    Pierre MAZIERES Copilot.

    Murielle DAGET hostess

    Christiane De CHALLONGE hostess

  • @939alexz and to those who say the plane was unmaned?....

  • @FlightVideo737 fo'real. no one would make it out of that crash alive. this was an unmanned test flight, i studied this one at the academy

  • @FlightVideo737 The pilot, co pilot & 131 other people on board got out alive. Google air france 296, read the reports. June 26 1988 Habsheim France. Pilot was Michel Asseline.
