-.- Cats are not stupid. When they are part of a family, they tend to avoid using their claws, especially with children. My cat also never went for the face.

@katapulqta He was seven months at the time - now almost 4 years later, he and Ernie are still best buddys!!

How lovely! What a beautiful baby and how wonderful that he is such good friends with Ernie. You (and Ernie, of course) have ensured that Trey will grow up confident with animals and have great respect and affection for them. This is a commendable action on your part. And lots of fun for you too, I suspect:-)

Thanks! They are still great buddies and my son is so great with Ernie and our other 3 cats. For an almost 2 1/2 year old he is very sweet and gentle with our cats and other ones he meets (doggies too!)
