  • @TheLignator : The arts have always been inspired, motivated and informed by faith in some god or another - just like they have been by nature, love, philosophy, secular poetry and literature in all times. Thanking the clouds for the beauty of music instead of men and women, is the biggest non-sequitur, usually due to ignorance on the subject, envy, stupidity, or an unshakable delude mind.

  • Idiot!

  • by Henry Loosemore not Gibbons. they start on B and finish on B-flat

  • too slow for me

  • Peter litman is the choir master and organist at my local church, and soon to be my organ teacher.

  • Isn't this lovely piece now attributed to Henry Loosemore?

  • Yup...this kind of music, architecture and figurative arts are what always made all those sadly obsolete doctrines bearable :-)

  • Wonderful to see the spirit of Christian good-will and ecumenism here. Gibbons of course composed for the Anglican (Ch. of Eng.) service, not the RC mass. Yet here his wonderful work is sung in a counter-reformation baroque RC place. He would be amazed since in his day he would likely been burned at the stake by Catholics (sad to say!).
