Bobby Valentin - Cuando Uno Se Enamora (bass)

This one's for El Rumbero, (also known as Giganticus Timbalus).

This is one HARD track to play. The first minute is just as insane as you can get in salsa music. Is typical of the Bobby Valentin tracks of this era: the first minute are pure fireworks, then it switches to a long steamy pregon with horns variations for 5 minutes.

Basswise, I tried to use Bobby Valentin's left hand technique and ran the bass with the tone halfway, no foam, into line6 "vintage preamp" set almost flat with a slight bass boost (100hz).

You definately gotta check the full version of this, it's SMOKIN'.

@pzcato You're gonna get your head blown. Check Tres Con Cache for a start. His band was so powerful at the time of that album, he hired two stars in the makin' to sing lead: Tony Vega AND Gilberto Santarosa ! Crazy !!
