I finally got around to making a simple strip-down video for this shotgun. Check it out!

  • are take down guns less accurite than soild ones

  • @gamerdude141 Even though I haven't shot a solid-framed model, I don't imagine that it would be any less accurate . If your lock-up is good, you wouldn't even notice that it was a takedown.

  • One of the most complete and in depth videos on the web involving the proper take down and reassembly of the Winchester 1897. Very nicely done.

  • @Lex5576 Thanks. I only wish I had a better camera.

  • Do you think you can use the same method to take apart an 1893 Winchester? The 1893 has a solid frame. I have not been able to figure it out. Are you familiar with the 1893?

  • @courtneymtitus The same method should work for the 1893, only taking into account that it is a solid-framed model.

  • Thanks so much for this video! It's the only video on youtube that I can find dealing with the disassembly of this shotgun! You do it slightly different from what I've seen written on this shotgun. Usually what I see is that people take the carrier assembly/hammer apart piece by piece before bringing it out of the gun. Your way looks MUCH simpler, so again, thank you!

  • @madrid12100 Thanks for your comment and questions!

The barrel in this video is an original, but not the barrel that came from the factory with the receiver. The original barrel to this receiver is still 30 inches, most likely for the off chance I would go hunting with it in the future. If you can find another barrel that may fit, go for it. I recommend Gunbroker or any gun shows in your area. I recently found an original riot barrel that fits, now the gun does H.D. duty for me.

  • Excellent video - I wish my Ithaca 37 was so easy to get apart and back together again. It's not hard, but it is time-consuming, and is a pain in the a** compared to one of these.

  • @TheMr45acp The screwdriver set is by Smith& Wesson. I got it back in the middle of 2011. I think I paid $29.00 on Amazon, the prices vary.

  • First off I would like to say, AMAZING gun. I love the take down models but haven't been able to get my hands on one. sadly all I have for now is a repro. Its still pretty nice though. Second, I was wondering if you could tell me what what brand the set of screwdrivers are that you have there. I've been looking for a good set for a decent price.

  • @zulutx No problem, glad it helped.
