Ian Anderson is one of the greatest showmen in rock history, reminds me of a renaissance era Freddy Mercury.

Damn dude, metal totally rules! It's cool that you don't like it and all, but it's certainly a very valid genre of music. Artists such as Barren Earth and Amorphis even seem to take some pretty big Tull influence, and other artists such as Enslaved and Ihsahn are totally bringing back the forward thinking of 70's prog rock bands. Even more extreme bands, such as Deathspell Omega and Vildjharta are bringing very sophisticated and musically relevant experiments in rhythm, composition and melody

Check out "Catfish Rising" This band still rocks!
If you listen carefully, you can hear echoes of their older material in the newer releases. Enjoy.

I saw them on the Rock Island tour (1990?) - what a legend this man really is. A truly great band.
