A long time ago, a war nearly destroyed all life. Now that 1000 years have passed, society is just about to reestablish itself. However, an iminent disaster is about to ensue. A mysterious young girl and her partners head out for a mission to capture an elusive creature called an Esper. However, this is no ordinary mission...

About the Clip: Using ZSNES v1.51, I first recorded the gameplay as a ZMV. Then I dumped the video footage using ZSNES' movie dumping feature. The RAW dumps serve as an excellent way to get a pristine source, since all the color information remains intact. Next, I used various common video tools to edit the video for YouTube, including: AVISynth, VirtualDub, BeSweet, Lagarith Lossless Codec, x264, Nero AAC and mkvtoolnix. I've also used the AVISynth filter MVtools2 for a motion blur effect. It creates artifacts, but also compensates some of the motion from the framerate being cut in half. Sorry if it's undesirable.

  • Can you tell me how to make HD video with SNES, I have ZSNES and VirtualDub.

  • @vgchris1 You'll also need to use avisynth to do any editing. It's just a simple upscale with pointresize. Dump ZSNES videos in raw and use avisynth with the rawsource plugin to load the file.

  • @yoshiyukiblade Is this program for Windows 7 ( That what I find when I look on google ) I have Windows XP.

  • @vgchris1 It should work with both. Avisynth relies writing various functions in a notepad file and opening it in Virtualdub or AVSP to "preview" the result. It's probably not what you're used to, but it's quite powerful. You should go to their main web site if you're interested in taking this route.

  • @yoshiyukiblade Is it possible to use ZSNES and VirtualDub, because I don't know how avisynth works.

  • @vgchris1 For dumping raw video, I don't think so. ZSNES has other video dumping options, but they're all lossy even in lossless mode (the colors are downsampled before encoding losslessly).

  • Thanks for this. Amazing game. Awesome video quality.

  • @joeywilson3 It was also ported to the GBA, but really took a hit in quality. Here's to hoping for a genuinely good remake though. :)

  • Sometimes I wonder why this FF was never rereleased after the PS1 version
