We went to Silverton hotel and casino where legend has it there is a real life mermaid living inside. Much like sirens, mermaids will sing to people or to gods to enchant them, distracting them from their work and causing people to walk off a ship's deck or to run their ship aground. Other stories depict mermaids squeezing the life out of drowning men while attempting to rescue them. They are also said to carry humans down to their underwater kingdoms.

A mermaid is a mythological aquatic creature with a female human head, arms, and torso and the tail of a fish. A male version of a mermaid is known as a "merman" and in general both males and females are known as "merfolk". Mermaids are represented in the folklore, literature and popular culture of many countries worldwide.

@mcshwa14 , @princessdaysie , actually, if you truly think about it, since the top half of mermaids is human, the organs would be mammilian, and so mermaids wouldnt be able to breathe underwater. their resperatory system would be similar to ours. they would probably hold their breath for long periods of time like whales and dolphins, and probaby wouldnt need nearly as much oxygen as we humans do.
