Feis Ceoil RVIA - Beginner's bar session at the Rhine Valley Festival of Irish Music and Dance

In the early evening hours, the session pace is relaxed, allowing beginners to run through the tunes they've learned during the day, try their hand at leading a tune. Here you see a good number of young players, some of which already show marked talent. Most of the seasoned musicians respect these few hours of easy-going play, secure in the knowledge that both tempo and atmosphere are going to shift up a gear or two towards midnight, and carry on long into the small hours. It's not uncommon for the bar to empty properly only with the dawn, when the remaining player drift of to catch an hour or two's sleep before classes start. More info at http://www.rvia-online.net/
