It's the year Steve Jobs introduces the Apple Macintosh computer, in California on January 24th. Over in London on December 30th, Radio 1 DJ Richard Skinner presents the forty best-selling singles of the year in the UK. Thanks to JV for these superb recordings.

Part 1/13.

  • Ajs41 Hello ... Thank you! For years I tried this music. You saved me! As a kid I like English music .. I should have been born in England.Essa music is part of the soundtrack of my 12 years of idade.Fantastic .

  • what a great year for music! the top 40 was so cool back then and richard skinner was a cool dj aswell!

  • upto 1980 Richard Skinner was not a dj he was on newsbeat reading the news

  • ajs41 - Thank you so much for posting this! My sister and I have spent (er, literally) years trying to even just compile a list of these songs, as our tape recording of this 1984 end-of-year chart went missing yonks ago and it was THE soundtrack to our childhood. To actually stumble upon the original recording = Eureka moment of the decade. Aaah, you're now a personal hero of mine. Right, going to enjoy a highly nostalgic morning. Please never delete these pages! Thanks so much again.

  • Notice how the jingles sound just like
