@DJCW Yeh, but his routines were Mista Sinista, Roc Raida and Total Eclipse rip offs. That is probably why he was marked down. Plus, there was no discernable scratch routine - the judges back then always went on the balance of the set.
-
I can tell there is a little bit of executioners influence in his juggles!
-
exactly, akakabe repeated his technic on several tracks but the technic was almost the same so not a lot of variations or creativity to be on the top 3 this year of 98...
but what a great moment i reckon !

simply the BEST TECHNIC DJ in 1998 DMC Contest !!!!!!!

@DJCW Yes but his Routines were copies of classic Mista Sinista and Total Eclipse ones. He is adept at what we used to call 'the fast pedal' beat juggling method, and the Black sheep routine is a classic, however he wasn't an innovator like Craze or A-Track, and he didn't have a cutting routine anywhere in his set. You had to show balance , variation and innovation to win the DMC back then - even though his set was very pleasing to the ear
-
He's using no battle breaks in this set.
Impressive.
-
@MAGIKORBIT yea that was sinista's public enemy juggle
-

4th place was piss-take, Dj akakabe was easily in the top 2. Just on technical ability alone he was superior by far which should of made up for his scratching. His beat-juggles was quick and real clean. IMO. He still is one of the best beat-jugglers of all time.
