We Petted Alfie, a Pahrump Rescued Feral Cat

Alfie, the one and only Kitty Motel lobby cat who wouldn't let none of us touch him since he was rescued and came to Kitty Motel from Pahrump, NV, four years ago. He has to get an arthritis medicine twice a day. Of course, we cannot hold him and give it to him, we usually put it into a small amount of baby food in a bowl. But giving the little bowl was even a challenge for many of us at first because if you look at him in the eye and get closer than two feet, he'd run. I used to look the other way and pretended I wasn't looking at him. Then slowly gave his bowl near him. Of course, none of us can pet him. Well, except these days, we're trying to give him a less than a second of "accidental" touch here and there. Alfie is great with other cats. He's Wolfie's snuggle buddy and sometimes he snuggles with Montana too. Linda who was helping out at Kitty Motel gave out some treats when Tiger Tim, Jessica and Alfie came to eat. While Alfie's face was down chowing his treats right next to Tiger Tim, Linda pet him. He must have thought it was Tiger Tim who was touching him first. Then he soon realized it was Linda. Linda gently stroke his back again. Alfie turned around quickly and swatted her hand few times and walked off but because of the power of treats or Linda's magic, he came right back in front of her. Linda pet him again. Alfie turned around and swatted her hand again. They did this over and over. "Alfie! Who's been giving you the special Fancy Feast every night?! Yes. Me! It's not fair!!!" I told him. The next day, we're having lunch together and Alfie was ready to nap where both Linda and I could reach him. I asked Linda to try petting him again and when she did, I reached my hand too... And we both petted him! Ooh-hoo! Finally after four years. One big step for Alfie to be adoptable ready!! And the skinny old cat in stylish lavender-ish pink sweater is Alfie's snuggling buddy Wolfie.

you must be very good people but I would be more gentle in your place, Wolfie is a nervous little guy and maybe if you let him first understand that you are coming near him slowly with good intentions, he wouldnt have this squinted eye face.... ;)

I LOVE Alfie because he always cuddle Wolfie, a skinny tiny cat to keep him warm ♥

@Tynanboyle96 What's it all about, Alfie? Is it just for the moment we live? I'll bet that cat was named after the Michael Caine character in the movie of the same name. He was a sort of feral Tom, too.
