UCSD art "diagnostician" Maurizio Seracini shares tales of his intriguing research that has revealed hidden images in paintings of the masters, much like the story told in author Dan Brown's fictional blockbuster, "The Da Vinci Code." • To enlightendtwo, did you watch the video? Maurizio is an Art Restorer/Historian, Jackson Pollock was an artist. Maurizio doesn't create art nor does he attempt to tell one what they should get out of observing a painting. His job is to bring as much of the original painting to the surface thus helping to increase the observers appreciation. I'm not sure what you were commenting on or why you were even critquing two individuals at opposite spectrums in the art world

  • It's fun to think some guy went up to the painting and went, "This painting is not awesome enough. It need more unicorns."

  • Amazing !! Take a Bow...

    Cheers

  • Live in the NOW!!!

  • Great investigation, very important contribution to the field of art history.

  • jackizmack,

He's the dir. of a center for interdisciplinary studies, and this is the best he can do, relative to edifying and unifying his students' perspective of the arts and sciences. You sound like one of his worthy students. Worthy of his lack of wealth of knowledge and interdisciplinary intelligence.

  • Maurizio Seracini is an oxymoron and out of touch to where art is now. This make it apparent that UCSD is not worthy to use the term Interdisciplinary. My advice is to read up on the likes of a Jackson Pollock. He's research and discovery provided the means for understanding how painting, music, dance, athletics, ... are all Interdisciplinary, as well as the means for understanding the basis for the integration of the mind/body/spirit/soul.

  • Fantastic!!!
