Mornington Lockett testing the unlacquered P. Mauriat 67RUL alto saxophone with a 6* LAW mouthpiece. "I am really pleased with this set-up. The LAW mouthpiece has a bright, very free-blowing sound, with an even response throughout the range. It's becoming my first choice for alto, especially for studio work, since it's so easy to control. The sax has a punchy, fat sound - contemporary and classic at the same time. I can hear everything from David Sanborn, Arthur Blythe, Cannonball Adderley to Phil Woods in the tonal resources of this horn. The keywork is light and hugs the fingers, so I can whizz around with ease. The wider bell really spreads the sound. I can play any style of music with this set-up. It's a joy to play."

Wow. This is the best I've ever heard a P. Mauriat played. This horn is definitely a force to be reconed with. It's making me rethink spending some major cash on a vintage selmer. These horns are really amazing and at a great price too. Just wow.

I've got the exact same saxophone and love it very much. At this moment I use my Otto Link 8, but judging from your video perhaps the LAW is also something to consider. Thanks for this video, I like the easy you're playing with and your sound!

Sounded good to me. It would have been nice to hear what Mornington's opinion was about it - perhaps in comparison with other models?
