@mohan4114 you saw what they showed you..10 people now burnt themselves to dead they were all youngster..they were born after china invaded tibet..why would they kill themsleves if they were happy???its easy to see from outside and comment but you live it you will know it..and the nut people you are talking about are the ones who kill others and themselves like those suicide bombers..these people didnt kill anyone else but themselves because they see no other way to send the message to the world

It is such a shame that possibly the only nation in the world that looks to live a good, spiritual life is under constant attack by this atheist superpower. The American government has no leverage to help them in this situation, as they own so much of our debt and are such an important trading partner. As always, in the circles of power, money is all that every matters.

Yes, han government humiliate tibetan people. I have been there and talked with people (tibetan and other chinese ). But I think it is very stupid to kill yourself because of it. It is the worst way to fight the oppression.

Suppose a robber come in your house, would you try to kill yourself to beg him to not steal you ?

And after talking with bouddhist persons in the diaspora, I agree with Mohan that killing yourself it is not considered bouddhist at all.

@mohan4114 You show crass ignorance about China's oppression and clampdown of the Tibetan people. Of course the big cities are like any other. Remember the Tiananmen Square Massacre in 1989, of a peaceful student protest - youtube.com/watch?v=6inWKFKv9U­A . An estimated 5,000 were slaughtered and over 10,000 injured. The Falun Gong oppression and torture!

Fly to China and see with you own eye, what going in China. It's just like New York, yes sure there always some people bitch about the government but in general life going on as normal. they're always some nuts people commit suicide , look at Japan. CCP is just a governing political party, there good and bad people always. If walk on Shanghai street or Taizhou (small town) street it's much better than Mumbai or New York.

The Kirti monk are not Buddhist , Buddha taught you not to harm others and not to harm yourself. Buddha also taught peace to other and peace to yourself. To burn one self, are no buddha teaching. The Kirti monk are misguided people.
