I was browsing the web for kirb commercials the other day and found this commercial. It kinda reminded me of kirby`s epic yarn this new game coming out for the wii.

  • @ColBarnaby Why would basing the art style of a game on an old commercial be "foolish?" Unusual, yes, but not foolish. Furthermore, what the idea is based on isn't important, it's the idea itself that should be criticized. Are you simply saying you think the paper cutout style of the game is foolish anyway?

  • KIRBY'S EPIC YARN = KIRBY'S ADVENTURE! OMG, WTF, o_O

  • @ColBarnaby

You never know man. Nintendo probably approves of each commercial before it's put on air, they probably looked through some old archives for shits and giggles, found this and got inspired.

The art style is just too similar to be a coincidence.

  • No, this is what we call a 'coincidence'. Commercials are not made by the studio, but rather by an ad agency. They are fed the details and try to make something interesting. They operate separately. On top of that, basing the entire art design for a game off a 17 year old commercial would be foolish.

So in response to your title of the video, no.
