CZ 858

Enjoying her while we can. What with all the recent BS from the canadian Government it looks like they're going to try to ban anything made in cooperation or for any military that's semi auto by the end of 2009. To hell with that.

The CZ is the current Czech military issue rifle. Chambered in 7.62x39, it's as accurate as the bullet is. Fun guns, well built, and very hardy. With a shortened mag for easier movement they make great deer guns in the brush.

Buy'er anyways. The more people with them the harder it is for them to legitimize taking them away. I'm stocking up on everything they're trying to ban, just so that it gives me a reason to fight them.

CGN is a good place for coordination too. You can bet if they try anything, that'll be the most reliable source of info we have.

Long and short of it, I'm really hoping that I'm being paranoid, but I sincerely doubt it.

P.S. in regards to the guns that I listed as being on the list to be reclassified, all but the AR 15 and VZ 58 are non-restricted, hence the CFC's attempt to remove them from the domain of the long gun registry.

If I've got my facts wrong somewhere feel free to correct me.

@Gmissile We're in a positive time. The gun registry is on its way out and hopefully more. I don't know what the poster of this video was talking about when he said it looked like these guns would be banned. We have a Conservative government and they are relatively pro-gun.

Reading the posts on CGN scared the shit outta me. Looking to get an 858, so obviously the prohib status bit is infuriating.

What worries me about losing the restricted is that that would mean that they would set a precedent, which would allow them to get rid of the rest too. Heck, the 858 might last a year as a restricted, then they'd make it a prohib too.

Anyways, for now the 858 may actually be ok, as they're trying to make it's restricted variant (VZ 58) prohibited. However, they haven't named all the guns on their wish list, and you can bet if it isn't on this one, it will be on the next one.

They will be reclassified as Prohibited without grandfathering allowed, or restricted. They have already ruled a recent batch of non restricted Type-97s and V 58's prohibited without giving reason why.

Add that to the fact that they have announced that they will be requesting the return of all recently sold T-97's without buying them back (confiscation, just like with the SPAS-12's and several others in the late 90's early 2000's.)
