www. ProGuitarShop.com-The Sparkle Drive is an overdrive pedal featuring a unique "clean" control. This JRC4558 circuit provides the same tone as a vintage TS-808 but the it also features a clean boosted direct signal which you can mix in. This restores the attack and feel which is lost in a highly compressed overdrive circuit. The Sparkle Drive utilizes the same concept as layering two amps, one clean and the other saturated. Of course with the clean control turned down, you get a classic overdrive tone. All the way up, it provides a super transparent, 100% clean boost. And just like every Voodoo Lab effect, the Sparkle Drive features true bypass switching, a heavy duty metal switch and on/off status LED. It's hand built from the finest components available and is backed by a 5-year warranty.

my biggest problem with demo video's like these is when your testing an overdrive you should use the amps clean channel and then OD channel. When you use just the OD channel or even slight gain on the clean channel it doesnt really show the potential the pedal has because the signal is already dirty.
even with the "clean" mix this pedal has, i would still like to hear this pedal and the amp on clean.
@PGuitarR from the stuff i heard the Mxr is a little more muffled and sounds a little compressed these two pedals are not very close together because this one is easier to make out the notes than the MXR so it really just depends on the type of guitar your using and if you want to have the noted clearer I would probably go with this one because its really versatile.
no, their not "engineered" for use through tube amps. everything else you said was true but saying their engineered for use through a tube amp is like saying a fork is engineered for use with only Steak, and won't work as well if you try to stick it in, say, chicken, or veggies. Trust me, I know what I'm talking about, I design, build and sell pedals.
