I was with a couple of friends downtown, about to have lunch, when we spotted the protest. I just happened to have my video camera with me, and had no prior knowledge of the event.

@RedsUnited25 I don't agree with their methods here, at all, but there was legitimate reason to be angry; The Portland Police Bureau had unjustifiably killed three people that year. Something needed to be done about it, but I agree: this was not a productive way to affect change. Still, it was non-violent/non-destructive protest, it's understandable that they were angry, and it's good that people have the freedom to express their feelings in our society.

@JWSiegel well way to fucking go, this MIGHT have been about an investigation about whether those killings were actually unlawful, but not any more.

This is fucking bullshit, we're suffering the same shit here in England right now, some gun toting gangster gets shot and the criminal thugs use that as an excuse to go on a looting spree. And what they can't steal they burn...

Rubber bullets, issue fucking thousands of them and tell the police they better come back with hot guns and empty mags.

@JWSiegel Which is why I dont get the whole anarchy crap. Really just seems like a bunch of teens looking to break shit for the hell of it. I honestly believe most of these people in masks were just looking for a reason to try and be disruptive rather than have a legitimate protest which could actually bring this issue to attention to the people that actually have the ability to do something about it in the Government. When they do this like you said its not productive.
