  • That's very nice, and nice to work... That Bach can be very hard, for beginners, but, if you get your ass together you can play this ! :)

  • Well, good luck with it! Sounds pretty hard to me. But you probably have a point.

  • NO.

It was NOT intended as study in technical difficulties.

It's not a collection of etudes ro finger excercises.

It's a study in development of musical IDEAS via the forms of prelude and fugue!

  • Perfect choice of tempo in this fugue.

  • @MusicisLife373 Haha its great to see another person other than myself referring to Bach as god of music. The human kind should be lucky to have a person (aka god) like Bach in its existence.

  • WOW! Such quick fingers and amazing playing!

  • I've been playing the fugue for a long time already, but still can't seem to get it in hands together. Help??

  • i love counterpoint the more i listen to bach the more i realize how much of a GOD he was his music is full of such joy and sorrow and love, and i love how it all interweaves in these beautiful playful melodies! man what a genius! and ofcourse when gould took bach on the musical heavens rung clear with Delight! :D gould and bach are my new life coaches! =D

  • (concerning the fugue) in my copy, the first F# of bar 3 is a regular sharp, and not a double sharp. (the second F changes to a double sharp.)

In this performance, either Gulda (bless his super-humanly talented soul) either hit the wrong note or was playing from a different edition. If there is anyone else with an edition that records the first F of bar three of the fugue as a double sharp, please let me know :)

  • sounds like harpsichord playing, so its a very good interpretation.

but on the other hand, it sounds bland. meh, it depends which side you look on.

  • how can't you love this? *_*
