  • The Miss America Schlorship and Talent compition is not stupid. it is to help young ladys have good examples. i dont care if people want to trash pagents because i know they are to better the attitude of young women and to teach them that looks arent everything. and that its whats on the inside that matters.

  • @BBblue87 These girls are still pursuing degrees. They probably took off a year of school to represent their state, but they are between 17-24 and in college or graduate school.

Without the wand (scepter), it looks like the pageant has been too modernized. A pageant needs a scepter and a crown. Sash is optional.

P.S. Before 2007, Miss America didn't wear a sash. The M.A.O. should remove that sash and take it away. The tradition has been broken. :(

  • they have bigger prizes here than Miss Universe & Miss World right? and are those thousands of dollors of scholarships transferrable to cash?

  • @BBblue87 I am currently attending Ball State University and am competing for the title of Miss Indiana this week. The scholarships are to help pay for schooling and student loans.

  • What I don't understand is what they're getting scholarships for? How old are they? Shouldn't they have already been to college? x

  • I met her last weekend and I had to borrow her car for a parade!

  • Leah Masee was my 6th grade teacher's daughter :P
