Tram tour

Here's a tour of the hill-tram that Dad and I built. My bro-in-law Ken was a huge help as well. My apologies to Holly for catching her on camera without makeup. Also, much thanks to Jud Rice for the welding expertise.

It's cool, but what happends if the motor/cables break while passengers on board?

@CoBzu: Either of the cables could break and it would be fine. The motor, gearbox and coupling are rated for 10 times the current load, but yes it is a risk. I am actually working on a counterweight solution that essentially nets out the empty cart load (minus enough to get it to go down). This should at least remove part of the risk. I have researched automatic brakes and the like, but haven't been able to produce something simple and effective.

I just want to tell you that I am totally inspired by your work. We have a home on a hill with sixty steps (no Driveway) and I am going to build a tram also.
