This is the failure of an HP dv5000 laptop keyboard. I have sent the laptop back to HP to have the keyboard fixed twice. The first time the keyboard was replaced and the second time the OS was reloaded. The issue is has been well documented by various users at the notebookreview forums. http://forums.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=57325&page =75
